A mental health therapy group in downtown Manitowoc has moved, but not too far away.
Summit Clinical Services relocated two doors down to 816 Washington Street, directly across from the Manitowoc County Courthouse.
The Chamber Manitowoc County held a ribbon cutting for the new location, which used to belong to a construction company.
Owner and Therapist Becky Richards says the new building was a great opportunity to grow.
She says they can now provide more mental health services for the community although it can depend on the staff’s life too.
“Our culture here is very person-focused in general,” she explained. “So, that’s our clientele, the community, and our staff as well. So, that work-life balance piece is very important to them and me.”
She also explained where the name Summit Clinical Services came from. Richards says she’s a “retired” rock and mountain climber.
“But it is really such an amazing analogy for the kind of work that we do,” she described. “Everybody kind of starts somewhere different but the goal is always to get to that Apex point, like what is your individual Summit. And I think it’s a fund play on words.”
The three therapists at Summit can help treat mental and substance abuse disorders, but Richards can also help with personality and anxiety disorders.
