The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center is saying goodbye to a longtime dispatcher.
Telecommunications Officer Chrissy Damkot recently called it a career after 35 years of helping get emergency services to those in need of help.
Her career began in the City of Sheboygan in 1988, and over time, she became known as the face of the communications center.
She even received the very first Life Saving Award after Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols were implemented when she gave lifesaving CPR instructions over the phone.
Chrissy also helped deliver a baby, was a trainer, and has won multiple awards.
In a post on the Center’s Facebook page, they say, “Chrissy’s professionalism, bright smile, and encyclopedic memory of phone numbers will be missed by us all, and we wish her the best in this next chapter.”
