Governor Tony Evers Official Portrait
It was another round of vetoes from Wisconsin’s governor. Governor Tony Evers on Friday scuttled a Republican tax cut plan, a proposal to set a specific wolf hunting goal, and a plan that would have banned DEI pledges for people at the University of Wisconsin.
The governor says the UW doesn’t currently require a DEI loyalty pledge, so he said there’s no need for a state law that bans them.
Republicans say the governor is again refusing to give people their money back and instead wants to spend Wisconsin’s near-record budget surplus.
