
Voting booths stand ready for use in a U.S. election.
Two Democrats and five Republicans are on the April 2nd ballot for the upcoming General Election.
Democrats will either vote for President Joe Biden or Congressman Dean Phillips in the Democratic Primary while Republicans have the choice between Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Chris Christie.
There are also some other contested Manitowoc County elections. In the village of Cleveland, six people are running for three seats on the village board of trustees, including Jarrod Jackett, Rob Burkhard, Kyle Wallander, Becky Paasch, and Jon Hoffman.
On the education side, the Howards Grove School Board has four people vying for two seats. Candidates include Courtney Athorp, and Brandon Suemnicht against Incumbents Janina Siemers and Dave Loomis.
In the Kiel Area School District, five people are trying to get one of four seats up for election.
They include Challengers Jon Lee and H.M Tre Waldren III facing off against Incumbents Karin Willie, Stuart Long, and Tammie Stahl.
Finally, in the Sheboygan Area School District, four candidates are hoping to get one of three seats up for election.
They include Incumbent Santino Laster facing off against Leah Hibl, Peter Madden, and Isabel Rivera. Polls for the election will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.
