Some Manitowoc County residents will be voting on issues that aren’t about candidates running for office in the April 2nd General Election.
In the town of Cato, residents will vote on whether the town’s board should be allowed to appoint a Town Clerk/Treasurer.
Those living within the Valders Area School District will vote yes or no in a referendum to allow the district to exceed the revenue limit beginning next school year through the 2026-27 school year by $1.3 million.
The purpose would be to pay district operating expenses, including funds for a school resource officer, math interventionist, and English language coordinator, and to maintain and improve staff.
The district also wants to upgrade district technology and explore opportunities to support student behavior needs.
These questions will be on the ballots, including contested races for county board and board trustees in Valders.
You can find out where you’re supposed to vote and what will be on your ballot by going to myvote.wi.gov.
Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. throughout the state.
