Manitowoc County Compost sites are getting new operating hours.
An announcement from County Department of Public Works Operations Manager Jon Reisenbuechler says starting Monday, April 1st, the Basswood Road site will be moving back to spring operating hours, meaning it will be open from 7:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 8:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The Woodland Drive compost site will be open from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
There will also be changed hours for the Recycling Center Main Office starting April 6th.
Monday through Friday, the office will be open from 7:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 to noon.
Some acceptable items for the compost sites include brush, small branches, leaves, grass, and lawn clippings. But there are others that the Recycling Center won’t accept.
