The City of Appleton has been honored for its work in addressing homelessness.
In a post on the City of Appleton’s Facebook page, they announced that they were granted the Pillars Inc. Community Partner of the Year Award.
Pillars Inc. is a housing and homeless shelter based in Appleton that aims to find “innovative, effective solutions so experiences of homelessness are rare and brief and everyone has a place to call home.”
The City of Appleton was praised for the collaborative effort between multiple departments and several non-profit organizations in the area as they managed a centralized hub to connect individuals experiencing homelessness to housing solutions.
In the post, the City stated, “Here at the City of Appleton, we’re dedicated to building a stronger, more inclusive community! Thank you, Pillars, for this honor!”
