The Milwaukee Medical Examiner has disclosed the cause of death of Jolene Waldref, a woman who passed away following a fall on ice in January.
Autopsy findings reveal that 49-year-old Waldref’s demise was directly linked to cardiovascular disease.
The incident occurred when Waldref slipped on ice near 76th and Congress amidst severe cold on January 15th.
Upon arrival, paramedics responding to the scene failed to locate Waldref and departed after six minutes to attend to another emergency.
Subsequently, the Milwaukee Common Council implemented new protocols mandating paramedics to actively search for patients upon arrival in February.
