A 29-year-old man was arrested in Manitowoc following an incident at the Meijer Store.
The Manitowoc Police Department dispatched police to the store on South Rapids Road just after 11:30 Friday evening on a report of a man appearing to load a magazine for a gun.
Officers arrived to find the man pacing back and forth near the entrances and pulling on the doors.
The man gave the investigators a false name multiple times before telling them he was ditched by some friends he was supposed to meet.
He explained that he had driven from Sheboygan, but due to being homeless, he claimed to not have any money for a cab or a hotel for the evening.
The man called his uncle for a ride, who gave police his real name, causing the suspect to begin yelling at his uncle to stop giving information due to an active warrant for his arrest.
The officers confirmed the warrant and began putting the man into handcuffs, but the man resisted. He was eventually taken into custody without further incident but was found to be in possession of meth, several pills, and drug paraphernalia.
He was arrested on charges of Resisting an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Schedule II Narcotic, a Non-Scheduled Drug, and Drug Paraphernalia along with two counts of Obstructing an Officer.
