The preliminary hearing for the man charged in connection to the disappearance of Elijah Vue has once again been delayed.
Jesse Vang appeared before Judge Robert Dewane via Zoom this morning, along with his newly appointed attorneys, Timothy Hogan and Michael Turner.
Neither of the lawyers could be with Vang in person, as they also appeared via Zoom from their offices and filed a motion to “toll the time limits” and adjourn the hearing until April 4th.
Tolling time limits means putting a pause on the clock related to the statute of limitations or how much time prosecutors are allowed to file charges in a specific case.
The defendant and the state agreed to the motion, as did Judge Dewane, who scheduled the preliminary hearing for 11:00 on Thursday, April 4th.
It was delayed two weeks to allow Attorneys Hogan and Turner enough time to meet with Vang and familiarize themselves with the case.
Katrina Baur, Vue’s mother, is due in court for her arraignment at 4:00 Friday evening.
