A grand opening for a new Manitowoc business will get underway this afternoon.
The CRusched Smash and Art Studio will be a safe place for people to come and smash donated small breakable items and old electronics.
Owner Christma Rusch said the idea from personal experience when she was starting her recovery from doing drugs.
“It’s just a great way to release tension and trapped energy,” she explained to Seehafer News.
Christma and her partner Cliff started the business to reduce the stigma of mental health after successfully opening a drug recovery center.
A ribbon cutting begins at 4:45 p.m. at the business on York Street, but doors will open to the public at 4:00.
Rusch says there will be food, games, and a chance to win packages to use the smash room.
It will be open on Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00, Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00, and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00.
You can also use the studios by booking them Monday through Thursday.
