A man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to flee from Manitowoc Police.
The criminal complaint states that an officer spotted an individual he knew to have a suspended license driving in the area of South 14th and Philippen Streets at around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The officer conducted a traffic stop, and when he approached the vehicle, a 35-year-old man exited the passenger seat and fled on foot.
The officer chased after the man, who had run down Division Street and was able to catch him a short distance later.
He pushed the individual against a house as he continued to resist, but the officer was able to get the cuffs on him.
The man called the officer names and refused to identify himself, but a credit card in his wallet gave the officers his name.
The man was found to have active warrants through the Manitowoc and Two Rivers Police Departments and through the Sheriff’s Office and was found to be in possession of some drug paraphernalia.
The man was charged with Resisting an Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and three counts of Felony Bail Jumping. The driver of the vehicle was let go with a verbal warning.
