A man is facing charges after he somehow drove his car into a sand trap at Whistling Straits.
According to WHBL, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the golf course at around 11:30 Saturday morning after security at the course found the car stuck in a sand trap.
It is not clear how the car got there, but it was said to have heavy front-end damage and was missing a tire.
The driver was sitting in the car smoking a cigarette and told responding officers that he comes to Whistling Straits because he “likes to look at the lake.”
The unidentified man was taken into custody on his 4th OWI and is likely to be fined for the damage to the course.
