The three men charged with the killing of Randall Denny in Green Bay will go on trial together.
According to a report by FOX11, Gustavo Cantu, Alejandro Cantu, and Jacob Ventura are accused of killing Denny at the intersection of Perkins and Western Avenues on April 30th, 2022, after what appeared to be a drug deal gone bad.
The trio was initially going to go before three different judges, but the Brown County District Attorney filed a motion to merge the cases, which was approved.
The prosecution said in the motion that they would have to call more than 50 of the same witnesses in each case and would essentially have to hold the same trial three times.
Judge Thomas Walsh agreed, despite concerns about delay from all three defense teams.
The trial date was set for September 9th, while a status conference for all three men was scheduled for April 17th.
