Governor Tony Evers traveled to Eau Claire to accuse Republicans of withholding funding for the hospital that will soon be closed in the city.
The governor claimed yesterday that Republicans in Wisconsin are impeding his proposal to invest $15 million on hospitals located throughout the Chippewa Valley.
Originally, the funds were intended for use in the other emergency rooms in the area after St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire close on Friday.
According to the governor, he altered the original plan to give hospitals more freedom to use the funds anyway they saw fit.
Meanwhile, the latest visit by Governor Tony Evers to Eau Claire is being referred to as a stunt by Republican lawmakers in the Chippewa Valley.
