Wisconsin lawmakers are set to delve into the state’s work-from-home policies in search of clarity and potential improvements.
The Joint Legislative Audit Committee is scheduled to convene a hearing tomorrow to review two audits—one from the Department of Administration and the other from the UW—exploring the extent of remote work arrangements and their implications for state-owned office space.
A December audit revealed that nearly three-quarters of state workspaces remain unutilized, while approximately a quarter of the state workforce is authorized to work remotely for up to five days per week.
Lawmakers aim to address concerns about the substantial expenditure on vacant office space.
