
A near collision in Manitowoc resulted in a man charged with OWI.
According to the criminal complaint, three officers were dispatched to the roundabout at the east side of Waldo Boulevard on a report of a driver who nearly hit another vehicle head-on.
The witness told police that the driver had gone the wrong way through the roundabout and drove north on Memorial Drive on the wrong side of the road until the area around the Yacht Club.
The suspect vehicle was located, and was pulled over at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Woodland Avenue.
The 51-year-old man initially could not figure out how to roll down his window and was said to have slurred speech.
He told police he was driving home and admitted that he had too much to drink.
While the man had refused a field sobriety test, he was taken to Holy Family Memorial Hospital for a blood draw.
He was arrested on his 4th OWI charge.
