Manitowoc County’s Congressman in Washington says President Biden’s 2025 budget proposal wouldn’t help ordinary Americans deal with the higher costs of everyday essentials.
According to Republican Glenn Grothman, Biden’s budget would increase the national debt by $18.2 trillion and include $4.9 trillion in tax increases.
He also says the budget would invest about $104 million back into the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), expand Obamacare subsidies, and doesn’t secure the US-Mexico.
According to the Associated Press, it would also provide about $900 billion for national defense while asking for more to fund the War in Ukraine.
It also proposes about $258 billion to go toward building or preserving about 2 million homes to address the national housing shortage.
Grothman didn’t say what he would want changed in the budget but said it would further exacerbate the inflation and rising prices that Americans are grappling with.
