The unemployment numbers for January are in.
According to the Department of Workforce Development, the City of Manitowoc saw a slight dip in the unemployment rate, coming in at 2.3%.
That is down 6 points from December’s rate and from last January’s rate, both of which were 2.9%.
The County, meanwhile, saw very little change over the past year.
January’s 2.8% rate is the same as it was in December and slightly lower than last January’s 2.9%.
For comparison, the City of Sheboygan is currently at 2.3%, slightly higher than last January’s rate of 2.2%, while Sheboygan County boasts an unemployment rate of 2.1%.
That is equal to last January and slightly lower than December’s 2.3% unemployment rate.
