Dana Wachs, the recently dismissed UW regent due to his support for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, is contemplating a run for the State Assembly.
In a recent appearance on Madison TV’s Capital City Sunday, Wachs defended his advocacy for DEI programs, expressing a desire for greater inclusivity at the University of Wisconsin.
With three terms of prior service in the Assembly, Wachs is eyeing a candidacy in a newly delineated district near Eau Claire, where Democrats hold a 55 percent majority.
A decision regarding his potential candidacy is expected by the week’s end.
