This week marks the closure of two HSHS hospitals in the Chippewa Valley: Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
The decision to shutter these facilities, announced in January by HSHS, is attributed to financial considerations and industry pressures.
In anticipation of the closure, other hospitals in Eau Claire have assured readiness to accommodate the influx of patients.
Additionally, many former employees of HSHS have secured positions at alternative healthcare facilities in the area.
Sacred Heart and St. Joe’s collectively constitute approximately one-third of healthcare services in the Chippewa Valley.
