A recent fundraiser at Woodland Dunes Nature Preserve was the most successful one they’ve had.
Executive Director Sue Crowley says the annual Tropical Blast raised more than $57,000 for the organization, with the original goal being only $50,000.
The event was held in February at the Sepia Chapel and included a night to celebrate 50 years of conservation and environmental studies with a Caribbean theme.
Crowley tells Seehafer News that the money will be used for education programs at the Dunes and adding more sessions.
It will also go toward tree planting and other habitat management.
