A fantastic season for the Kiel Boys Basketball team came to an unfortunate end in the State Semifinals.
The Lakeside Lutheran Warriors beat the Raiders 57-55 down in Madison. Kiel was up 27-21 at halftime and up 8 at one point in the second half.
But the Warriors would come back and take the lead 55-52 before Kiel’s Jack Heckmann hit a three to tie it at 55.
However, Lakeside Lutheran’s Kaycee Guzman hit a game-winning shot with 1.5 seconds left in the game.
Guzman led the Warriors in points with 21 points, followed by Wes Rahn with 20 points and 18 rebounds.
For Kiel, Grant Manz scored the most points with 15 followed by Pierce Arenz with 12 and Brandon Aprill with 10.
Kiel finishes the season at 28-1. Lakeside Lutheran will face St. Thomas Mone for the Division 3 State Championship.
