
A man who started a religious organization in Appleton is now facing sex crime charges in California.
According to WBAY TV, Sansue Bee Vang is facing multiple charges as he is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2022 and 2023 and sexually abusing a young girl on multiple occasions.
The police reports out of Butte County in California say that the victims were threatened to keep them quiet, with the girl saying Vang threatened to beat her. Vang has denied any wrongdoing.
Vang started a faith-based organization for Hmong people in Appleton but moved to Fresno, California, after amassing a following.
Vang has pleaded not guilty and is due back in Butte County Court on April 4th.
