A man is in custody following a tense standoff this morning in Manitowoc.
According to a report from Lieutenant Bruce Tuma, Manitowoc Police Officers were called to the 1300 block of Hamilton Street at 3:50 this morning (March 15th) for a family disturbance.
A 41-year-old man was seen standing outside with what appeared to be a firearm, so a perimeter was established.
A drone was used to get eyes on the individual as officers gave verbal commands for him to surrender.
He initially did not comply, so the Sheriff’s Office brought in their armored BearCat vehicle and used the public address system to give commands.
The man eventually came outside and was peacefully taken into custody on a charge of Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence enhancer and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Lieutenant Tuma also noted that there are no current concerns for the safety of the general public.
