School officials in Altoona have clarified that Thursday’s lockdown incident was a false alarm.
Superintendent Heidi Eliopoulos explained that an erroneous signal from their emergency communications system triggered the lockdown.
In a message to parents, Eliopoulos assured them that no students were ever in peril, emphasizing that no actual threat had been detected.
The cause behind the false alarm is currently under investigation.
