The Attorney General of Wisconsin, Josh Kaul, has announced the state’s participation in a multistate lawsuit targeting an alleged cancer charity scam.
Wisconsin is suing the Women’s Cancer Fund and its leader, Gregory Anderson, for purportedly misappropriating funds.
Investigations reveal that the charity collected over $18 million from 2017 to 2022, with only a fraction going towards assisting women with cancer.
Anderson allegedly embezzled $775,000 while professional fundraisers pocketed over $15 million.
Wisconsin joins nine other states and the Federal Trade Commission in pursuing legal action against the accused.
