Two Eastern Wisconsin basketballers played key roles in UW Green Bay’s Horizon League Semifinal win yesterday (March 11th).
The second-seeded Phoenix took down #3 Fort Wayne 64-55 to advance to the Horizon League Finals.
Callie Genke of Wrightstown scored 16 points for the Phoenix, including three baskets from beyond the arc, while Appleton native Maddy Schreiber added 13 while taking down 6 rebounds.
Junior Guard Bailey Butler also played a key role, dishing out 10 assists at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.
The championship game will feature the #2-seeded Phoenix and the top-seeded Cleveland State Vikings.
The teams split their regular season series, with the Phoenix winning the first matchup in late December 85-72, but the Vikings would take game two on February 3rd 86-63.
Tip-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. again at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
