A Manitowoc alderman is recovering after receiving an injury at work.
4th District Alderman Jim Brey tells Seehafer News that he was injured when a forklift he was driving bumped into a shelf that ended up collapsing on top of him.
He had to get emergency surgery on his leg due to the injury.
He also has a broken shoulder.
Right now, Brey tells us he hopes he’ll be able to attend meetings starting next week.
“I can walk pretty good, but my shoulder is immobilized,” he explained. “I have a brace on it right now, but I can move around enough, is what I’m trying to say.”
He says he wants to work through the injury and hopes he will be able to get a shoulder brace he’s wearing off soon.
Brey has been an alderman for the city of Manitowoc for over 20 years and is running for another term.
