There were a lot of close contests during the WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament.
There were two northeast Wisconsin teams vying for a state title, but the titles ended up going to their opponents.
In Division 2, Pewaukee took down Notre Dame 60-52. Trista Fayta led the Tritons, scoring 13 points and picking up 5 rebounds.
Kaia Waldrop added 10 for Notre Dame, with Sydney Whitehouse and Petyon Musial each having 10.
For the Pirates, They were led by Giselle Janowski with 20 points. In Division 3, Edgewood upended the Xavier Hawks in another close game, 55-52.
Xavier was led by Carsyn Stempa with 16 points, followed by Elle Krul with 11. Edgewood was led by Anna Miller, who shot 20 points in the game.
Xavier had the most turnovers with 16 and Edgewood had more second chance points.
Other winners included Arrowhead beating Neenah 69-59 in Division 1.
