An annual figure skating show is returning for its 28th year.
The Manitowoc County Figure Skating Club returns to the Manitowoc County Expo Center next Saturday and Sunday.
Vice President Dave Pawlowski says this year’s theme is There’s No Place Like Manitowoc County Figure Skating Club, which is the club’s rendition of the Wizard of Oz.
Every year, the ice center is transformed from a hockey rink into a theatrical stage, with backdrops from one end of the building to the other, props, and professional music.
Pawlowski says that figure skaters of all ages will be on the ice like in previous years.
He explained, “There going to see the cutest of little ones all the way up to the most accomplished competing figure skaters in our club.”
Pawlowski gives credit to the volunteers and sponsors who allow the club to put on the show.
He says whoever comes will enjoy what they see.
“There are going to see characters that are in very elaborate costumes and makeup,” he described. “And all of the elements that give the kids the opportunity to display the skating skills that they’ve learned throughout the year.”
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for kids ages three through twelve. The shows happen on March 16th and 17th at 1 pm and 4 pm daily.
