A man in Shawano County is dead after a fire got out of control.
Shawano County Sheriff Deputies say they were called around 11:35 am Thursday to the area of Wildwood Rd. near Townline Rd in the town of Navarino and found the female caller had several burn injuries.
She told deputies that her husband was still in the area of the fire, and when they searched for the man, he was found deceased.
The couple was burning brush in a burn pit before the fire spread and became out of control, but firefighters showed up and got control of the fire.
The woman was taken by ambulance for her injuries.
Shawano County Detectives are now investigating what happened to the man while the Wisconsin DNR is looking into what happened with the fire.
