Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has signed a new law that modifies the reciprocity agreement between Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Under the revised agreement, any additional money that the University of Wisconsin (UW) campuses receive from Minnesota students will now stay with the respective campuses instead of going to the state.
This deal allows Minnesota students to pay tuition fees that are equivalent to those charged in Minnesota while attending a UW school.
The change in the agreement is expected to benefit UW campuses, with UW-River Falls’ chancellor estimating that her campus alone could receive up to four million dollars.
