The Maribel and Francis Creek Sportsmen’s Clubs surpassed a milestone 34 years in the making.
In 1990, the clubs began crafting wood duck and bluebird houses, which have been placed all around Manitowoc County.
On February 19th, the group crafted their 8,000th duck house, which is on top of the over 14,000 birdhouses already made.
Plus, the groups have begun making bat houses for the underappreciated nighttime hunters.
Bob Schuh, who has been leading the charge on the crafting of these houses, was also gifted a check for $250 from the Green Bay Duck Hunters to help cover the cost of the projects.
In a statement to Seehafer News, Schuh explained, “Houses are given out to conservation-minded individuals that place them out on the landscape to enhance nesting capabilities for those species. Any donations go directly back into the purchase of more materials.”
Anyone who would like a duck, bluebird, or bat house can call Bob at 920-682-3106.
