Governor Tony Evers Official Portrait
Governor Evers has signed a measure that raises the fees for out-of-state hunters seeking bow and crossbow deer licenses into law.
Effective later this year, the legislation increases the cost of such licenses by $35, totaling $200 for non-residents.
The Department of Natural Resources anticipates this adjustment to generate an additional revenue of over half a million dollars for the upcoming hunting season.
Nevertheless, it remains insufficient to offset the DNR’s $16 million deficit, partly attributable to declining hunting and fishing license purchases.
