While Manitowoc United’s season is in the books, three area teams will be in Middleton this weekend, vying for a state championship.
St. Mary’s Springs was given the #2 seed in the Division 2 bracket and is looking for its 3rd championship in four years.
They will face off against #3 River Falls at 1:30 Thursday (February 29th).
The winner will then take on either #1 New Richmond or #4 Tomahawk for the state title at 9:30 Saturday morning.
The defending champion Notre Dame squad earned a two-seed in the Division 1 tournament at Bob Suter’s Capitol Ice Arena and will take on #3 Edgewood at 2:30 Friday afternoon.
The winner will face either #1 Chippewa Falls or #4 Brookfield East Co-op at 7:00 Saturday evening.
In the girls’ bracket, the defending champion De Pere Co-op earned a three seed and will face the #2 River Falls Co-op at 7:30 Thursday evening.
The winner will face a co-op from either #1 D.C. Everest or #4 Sun Prairie West for the state crown at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
