
The state’s Division of Criminal Investigation has taken over a shooting case in Green Bay that involved police officers.
According to the Green Bay Police Department, officers were called to the 3100 block of Open Gate Trail at around 1:00 Friday afternoon on a report of a weapon.
Investigators approached a vehicle that was believed to be involved, which is when they reported being shot at by the individual in the vehicle.
The officers returned fire, striking the suspect.
First aid was administered, and the individual was taken to a local hospital, but they died from their injuries.
The officers involved, who were uninjured, have been placed on administrative leave, as per department policy, while the Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation has taken over the case.
