In a post on Facebook, Police Chief Ben Meinert dispelled a rumor of a video depicting the recovery of a minor by officers.
In the post, he explicitly state that that video is a fake.
Chief Meinert also warned of some scammers, trying to take advantage of the situation.
He explained that some people are trying to make money what did not say exactly how.
People who are continuing to search are asked to respect the private property of others and only search in public areas.
Residents have also been asked to check their personal property and any security camera footage they may have for any tips that may lead to finding Elijah.
