The Two Rivers City Manager is praising the work of everyone who has aided in the search for the missing 3-year-old boy.
Elijah Vue was reported missing at 8:00 Tuesday morning, and since then, many citizens and law enforcement entities have searched the city and the surrounding area.
City Manager Greg Buckley tells Seehafer News that even though it is a very stressful time in the Cool City, he is thankful for everyone who has helped look.
He noted that “Within a couple of hours of the police department being notified of the situation, [there was] a helicopter in the air, at least three Manitowoc squads, Manitowoc city K9 out and deployed, Manitowoc County here in force, Sheboygan City squads, Calumet, DNR conservation officers, area volunteer fire departments, our own fire and public works, utility personnel, and not to mention the whole community. It really was all hands on deck.”
Buckley also confirmed that not only have local entities come out to help, but the State’s Division of Criminal Investigation has also helped the investigation, as has FBI agents from Quantico, Virginia.
“The taxpayers and the residents ought to be proud of the swiftness and the response,” Buckley said.
While Buckley said he hopes not to have to call on those recourses very often, he called it very heartening to know that it’s there and that it gives him “a lot of confidence in our local law enforcement and first responder community, and their ability to access those state and federal resources when needed.”
