The former Green Bay Area School District’s former superintendent maintained his stance after disclosing the interview footage that led to his resignation.
Claude Tiller Jr., the former superintendent, referred to a Green Bay Schools administrator as a “wicked witch” during the interview and asserted that being black required him to exert more effort in his role as superintendent.
Tiller, the first black superintendent in Green Bay’s history, was initially placed on leave by the city’s school board before resigning last Saturday.
In his resignation letter, Tiller expressed the weight of leadership responsibilities, stating, “Heaviest is the head that wears the crown.”
