Following an investigation into Sheriff Travis Hakes’ conduct, Chippewa County has expressed a vote of “no confidence” in his leadership.
The county board forwarded the extensive 500-page investigation to the District Attorney.
Allegations against Hakes include the mistreatment of a female dispatcher and concerns regarding his secondary employment.
Despite his insistence on innocence, Hakes declined to cooperate with the investigation, dismissing it as politically motivated.
