Formal charges have been filed against 57-year-old Thomas Routt Jr in connection to the devastating double homicide that shook Elkhorn’s community last month.
Prosecutors in Walworth County have charged Routt with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, along with one count of attempted homicide and weapons charges.
The incident, which claimed the lives of 37-year-old Gina Weingart and her husband on February 1st, also involved an attempt on a third individual’s life.
Currently held on a $2 million bond, Routt is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
