A Menasha man convicted of making and distributing child pornography has been sentenced.
According to a report on FOX11 in Green Bay, 35-year-old John D. Schaefer was ordered to spend 25 years in prison and spend the rest of his life on the sex offender registry and on supervised release.
Schaefer was arrested in November of 2022 after he showed his roommate a video he had made depicting the sexual abuse of an approximately 15-month-old child.
Through their investigation, police learned that Schaefer was babysitting the infant when he created the video.
In total, over 156,000 images and videos, or roughly 2.2 terabytes, of child sexual abuse material were found on Schaefer’s electronic devices.
