The Brown County Sheriff’s Office was busy Thursday as they responded to a total of three separate ice rescues.
According to WBAY TV, all three came in at around the same time in the Town of Scott, at Bayshore Park, and at Red River Park, with a total of nine people being rescued. Everyone was taken back to shore safely.
All of the individuals were said to be ice fishing when the ice cracked and began to float them away from shore.
In a post on Facebook, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office warned people to stay off the ice.
The post stated, “This has not been a typical Wisconsin winter, so even though it is mid-February, DO NOT GO OUT ON THE ICE!!”
