Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels is suddenly much busier.
Mayor Nickels announced Wednesday that Governor Tony Evers appointed him to the Wisconsin Retirement Board through the Employee Trust Fund and to the League of Wisconsin Municipalities Mutual Insurance (LWMMI) Board of Directors by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities Board of Directors.
His stint on the Wisconsin Retirement Board will be a five-year term, where he will help advise the Employee Trust Fund on matters relating to retirement for public employees.
The Insurance Board covers insurance liabilities for over 500 Cities, Villages, and Special Municipal Districts.
These appointments are on top of Mayor Nickes’ current duties on the statewide Incorporation Review Board, which is responsible for ensuring that proposed new cities and villages comply with certain statutory standards.
