The Green County Coroner has identified the individual fatally struck by a truck in a business parking lot in Monroe last week as Carmen Hale.
Hale was leaving her shift on Friday in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue when she was hit by a truck backing up in the employee lot.
The truck driver, part of a contracted utility crew working on the business’s underground infrastructure, remains under investigation.
The incident underscores the need for heightened safety measures in such environments.
