The Manitowoc United hockey team picked up their 6th win of the season last night (February 6th), as they went into Appleton and took down the Fox Cities Stars 3-2.
The home squad struck first, getting a shot past goalie Dan Karlin early in the first period, but Aragon Jack would help him out at the other end, knotting the game up with a powerplay goal only two and a half minutes later.
About five minutes into the second period, Ethan Christensen would score shorthanded to give United the lead.
Again, two and a half minutes later, Jacob Wallander would tickle the twine to push the lead to two.
The stars would score on the powerplay with less than two minutes left, but United held on to secure the win.
Wallander, Reed Bartz, and Myles De Kok would end the night with one assist apiece, while Karlin stopped 32 shots.
United is now 6-11-1 on the season, and their final home game of the season is scheduled for this Saturday, as the Green Bay Gryphons come to the Manitowoc County Ice Center.
Puck drop is slated for 6:30 p.m.
