Experts appointed by Wisconsin’s Supreme Court to redraft the state’s political maps have dismissed the Republican-drawn proposals, asserting an end to gerrymandering in favor of the GOP.
The court’s external consultants rebuffed maps submitted by Republican legislators and the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, citing persistent gerrymandering tendencies.
While not endorsing any Democratic-drawn maps, the experts informed the court of their readiness to swiftly create alternative maps.
Wisconsin must adopt new legislative maps by March 15th to apply them in the upcoming elections.
