The six girls who were strip-searched in the Suring School District have won in court.
A judge in Oconto County ruled in favor of the victims, awarding them $400,000, which they will split.
In 2022, Suring Superintendent Kelly Casper stripped the girls down to their underwear to search for vape cartridges, but she did not face any criminal charges.
State law does not ban this practice, but has crafted legislation to ban the practice, which is now awaiting Governor Tony Evers’ signature.
