
The Manitowoc Police Department has released more information about the divers in the Manitowoc River.
According to Captain Matt Wallander, the Manitowoc Police, along with Manitowoc Fire Rescue and County divers met at the 8th Street bridge this morning to conduct a search for a missing 30-year-old man.
The unnamed individual was reported missing by his family Monday (January 29th) after he was last seen in the area of the 8th Street bridge the previous night.
Divers used underwater sonar scanners to locate the man’s body.
While no foul play is suspected, the investigation is still ongoing.
No additional details are expected to be released.
Captain Wallander closed the release by saying “The Manitowoc Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the man’s family and those that have been affected as a result of this tragic incident.”
